Artistic Research in Bucharest: Politics of the Body

The artistic research groups Dublin/Limassol – Madalina Dan (RO), Fearghus Ó Conchúir (IE), Olga Zitluhina (LV), Arianna Marcoulides (CY), Luke Pell (UK) and Riga London – Mircea Ghinea (RO), Laura Murphy (IE), Kaspars Lielgalvis (LV), Alexis Vassiliou (CY), Gemma Riggs (UK) are re-united in Bucharest, between 4-11 of April for a final working period.

The eclectic and conflictual city of Bucharest brings on the table a sensitive theme – the politics of the body. The artists will be based at ZonaD studio of the project leader – Gabriela Tudor Foundation, and at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, local associated partner, and will have the opportunity to explore and understand Bucharest from different approaches and perspectives.

At the end of their final research periods, both groups will hold open presentations as a sharing of their working processes. Events are scheduled on April 12, 19.30 for the Riga/London group and April 13, 12.00 for the Dublin/ Limassol group, in the frame of the closing project event – the E-Motional Festival.

The Artistic Research in Bucharest is financially supported by the Culture 2007-2013 programme of the EU, the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam and the National Dance Centre in Bucharest.
