Katrina Albuze in residence in Bacau

Latvian young artist Katrina Albuze will benefit from an ArtistNe(s)t residence in Bacau, Romania. The residency opens with a 3-day period in Bucharest to meet local dance community and attend performances in the frame of the eXplore dance festival. During the residency Katrina will work on a new dance piece as well as communicate with local artists to share the experience and open possibility to collaborate in future. The residency is organised by Gabriela Tudor Foundation in Bucharest and the Association of the Professional Dance Choreographers of Latvia, and is hosted by “George Apostu” Cultural Centre in Bacau.

Katrina Albuze has BA in Arts (Choreography of contemporary dance, Latvian Culture Accademy, 2011 ), preceded by 2-year studies at the dance department of the Culture College of Latvia (graduated in 2007). She collaborated as performer with such choreographers and directors as Lily Skover (USA), Davide  Giovanzana (Italy), Hugo Mastrolorenzo (Argentina), Fiona Millward (United Kingdom), Virpi Juntti (Finland), Sintija Silina (Latvia), Baiba Krievina (Latvia), Anna Dubrovska (Latvia). She has created choreographies for student drama theatre plays as well as dance pieces in frame of the academy programme. Workshops: in contemporary dance technique by Katri Soini (Finland), Paolo Fossa (Germany), Simo Kellokumpu (Finland), in Contact Improvisation with Benno Voorham (Sweeden), Oren Tishler (Israel), Andrea Buckley (United Kingdom), in Flying Low – Rita Nordmane (Latvia) etc.
