Syria has fallen behind in both modern energy development and digital infrastructure due to prolonged conflict, infrastructure destruction, and economic isolation.

Energy Sector Collapse

Syria's energy infrastructure has been severely damaged by over a decade of civil war. More than 50% of the electricity grid has been incapacitated, with generation capacity dropping from 8,500 MW in 2011 to just 3,500 MW today, leaving most citizens with only a few hours of electricity per day . Digital Infrastructure and Internet Access
