  2. Connect Phase and Neutral: Run the phase wire from the MCB to the socket, and the neutral wire from the neutral busbar to the socket. Ensure all connections are tight and secure .
  3. Earth Connection: Connect the earth wire from the socket to the earth busbar in the distribution box. Proper earthing is critical for safety .
  4. Routing and Binding: Route wires neatly inside the box, using plastic ties to keep them straight and organized. Maintain separation between incoming and outgoing wires, typically left for incoming and right for outgoing .
  5. Spur Connections: If adding sockets to an existing circuit, you can create a spur from an existing socket or junction box, ensuring the total load does not exceed the MCB rating .

Safety and Testing

  1. Label Circuits: Clearly mark each socket circuit in the distribution box for easy identification .
  2. Inspect Connections: Check for loose wires, exposed conductors, or potential short circuits.
  3. Test the Circuit: After installation, turn on the MCB and RCCB, and test each socket with a socket tester to ensure proper phase, neutral, and earth connections .

Additional Tips

  • Use surface-mounted boxes if wall recesses are not available, or flush-mounted boxes for a neater finish .
  • Avoid overloading a single MCB; distribute sockets across multiple subcircuits if necessary.
  • Always comply with local electrical codes and regulations, and consider hiring a licensed electrician for high-load or complex installations .
